This year it coincides with Super Bowl Sunday,
so it has been scheduled for a little earlier in the day.

For the third Tu B’Shevat in a row, Robby Astrove of Trees Atlanta
will lead us in planting trees, this year in Kirkwood. We will be
planting trees in Bessie Branham Park and along neighborhood streets.

Volunteers should be dressed for work and bring water.
Tools, gloves, and instruction will be provided.

We need about 30-50 volunteers between the various organizations.

Also, please note that we really do need the majority of
volunteers to stay until the end. Planting each tree entails
digging the hole properly, placing the tree properly, restoring dirt
to the hole and area around the tree, placing a couple buckets of
mulch in a donut ring around the tree, and then watering the tree
with a couple buckets of water.

It becomes a bit overwhelming when the last dozen or so trees still
need mulch and water and most of the volunteers have already left.
So please do plan to stay until 1pm. And if you can't get there by
10am, just know that additional bodies in the closing hour are very
welcome.
