Leaving The Fold and Leap of Faith -- two films about Orthodoxy.
The first film is about Hasidic young people who become dissatisfied
with their ultra-observant lifestyles, and venture "outside."
The second film, equally powerful, is about Christians who convert
into Orthodox Judaism.
Even if you didn't see those films (they were sold out), please feel
free to attend our series that discusses issues of Jewish identity,
entering, and leaving. "Reconformadox: Does It Really Matter?"
This is a a unique partnership with the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival,
in which we will discuss the questions -
What's the attraction of Orthodoxy?
What is problematic about Orthodoxy?
What brings people to construct their Jewish identities the way they do?
Do our contemporary Jewish denominations still make sense?
