Greetings!

This week, Tuesday Mar 9th, we'll finish the Book of Exodus with the
combined portions Vayakhel and Pekudei (He Convoked & The Records),
Exodus 35:1 - 40:38. Our third triennial part is verses 39:22 - 40:38.

Whenever we finish a book of the Torah we have a lunch party to
celebrate. It's also our time to thank Rabbi Analia for teaching us
Exodus.

Rabbi Mario will be with us when we start Leviticus.

Lunch will be bagels, cream cheese and lox, along with salad from
Einstein's. Please feel free to come anytime after 11:45 to have
lunch as we study.

The dolphins make their appearance in this week's triennial. I'm
always glad to read about them. They're a fun little presence for me.

And the ending of Exodus is very profound: The presence of the L-rd
was like a cloud. When the cloud lifted, the Israelites would set
out. But if the cloud did not lift, they would not set out.

I'm reminded of the spiritual:
Oh L-rd I'm a waiting on You
Oh L-rd I'm a waiting on You
Because I can't do nothin' till the Spirit comes.

The Israelites in the desert had this totally squared away.

May we wait for, and receive, the Spirit too.

You're welcome to join us this week. Or any week. Or every week.
Warmly,
David
Please read this week's portion before our meeting. Our discussions
are much deeper when we're all acquainted with the material and our discussions proceed from there.

Torah in the Woods is a program of Congregation Or Hadash that is open
to all who are interested in Torah study. We meet every Tuesday. You
are welcome to arrive at 11:45 or anytime thereafter. Bring your lunch
if you'd like. Beverages are provided.
