Passover First Night

Monday, March 29, 2010

Passover begins tonight at Sundown, Monday, March 29, 2010
Traditionally, diaspora Jews observe two nights of Seders.

Passover is a 7-day festival as specified in the bible,
and is observed that way today in Israel.
In the diaspora, Jews traditionally observe it for 8 days,
but the Reform Movement has returned it to a 7 day festival.

The main features of the holiday are remembering the Exodus from Egypt
and eating only unleavened bread, matzah.
